Plot

Welcome to the land of Tyria, a vast continent plagued by war and the ever present shadow of the rising dragon threat. You are one of the five races that stand at bloodied boarders preparing for war. Unlikely alliances have been made and the age of heroes is on the horizon, wither a quest for glory, or a desperate exodus from your home. You now find yourself at the makeshift city of Lion’s Arch.

The streets are alive with all walks of life, refugees from towns and villages ravaged by war or driven away by the might of the dragon champions, crowd the many alleyways. All around it appears as if the whole city was built on the remains of broken ships and influences from as far as the Cantha and Elona can be seen amidst the remains of the ancient Lion’s Arch that can be seen just beneath the waves.

1. As always most everything goes as long as it is well explained within the setting/lore. Its important to add that if your character is never in danger then you might find it hard to attach yourself to them so don’t be afraid to let them get roughed up or even die.

2. Any adult sections should be discreetly ‘skipped ahead’ and role-played out in the ‘red light district’ of the forum as we don’t want constant sexing between two or more people getting in the way of everyone else roleplaying.

3. Skill’s and abilities should stick to the one’s generated by the Skill tool. This is in the interest of giving you a unique approach to playing your character and will help keep things within the GW setting

Background: Born in the Dusk of the day, Ailie is very inquisitive and sees the world and every situation as a cherished new experience. drawn to the cycles of life and death she study's necromancy in order to understand the beginning and ending of 'the journey' her travels have brought her to lion's arch. the home of heroes and the center of the 'free world'

Background: Raven grew up on the streets of Kyrta as an orphan who never got the chance to know the identity of her birth parents. Taking to the streets she had led a hard life, full of daily struggles. She wasn't born a noble but she still fights for honor and respect.

Profession: Thief

Background: The events of the father of her clan turning his back on her people gave Razhjan quite a terrible reputation, regardless, still trained under the Ash Legion's banner, the charr has proven to be a quite the fine spy. Stalking up beneath the bridges and upon the rooftops, only seen to the opportunity and perhaps the eventual drink, the charm of this fierce-looking fluffy beast has given her quite the name within the lower tier taverns.

Appearance: Razjhan stands within the standards of her race when it comes to her height. Her body is more lean than strong. Wiry muscle that speak of speed and stealth tactics rather than brute strength. Her face resembles that of a cougar, finer feline features. Her eyes are an intense emerald green, quite reactive to light; the horns atop of her skull go back and curl slightly upward, the ones beneath her four ears curl in direction to her face, much smaller in comparison to the other set. Her fur is a light shade of gray with darker spots in patterns similar to the large cats of the snowy lands. She also has a very 'soft' fluffy look.

Profession: Guardian

Background: Having completed his right of passage in his small home town village to be considered a man and one of the hunters of the village he passes out drunk in a cart for several days only to awake in Lions arch among the off loaded supplies finding himself moneyless with just his weapons his adventures begins trying to find eithir money to get back home or perhaps a new path that he'd never considered before.

Ailie would awake with a start as her surroundings begin to shake. Sleepily she would place a hand against the roof of her small space and push up. Poking her blue leafy head out of the barrel she had cleverly hidden herself in she would look around, she was being carried by what appeared to be a Norn sailor, off the ship she had also cleverly…now what was the word…oh yeah Stowed away on.

She wasn’t quite sure why some humans traveled this way but she was sure at the time that she wouldn’t miss the opportunity to try something new. “so what is this place mr. muscles?” she would say laying lazily in the barrel, the norn would look up over his shoulder where Ailie’s face was and pinch the bridge of his nose between his eyes.

“You’re in the harbor city of Lion’s Arch young one. Might I ask what you were doing in that barrel?” he had seen it before gullible Sylvari tumbling out of crates and barrels after being talked into or over hearing about the exciting travel option of ‘stow away’. Most of the workers on the docs forgave sylvari and let them off with a warning, this was no different.

“well you see, I was studying at home when I had overheard that you could take a ship and see new places. I tried boarding and was told I’d need money. That’s when this strange woman came and explained to me about….” She was cut off as the norn placed the barrel down on a cobbled step. “aye then it’s the same as the rest. You can run along now. I’ve got to go explain why ‘The bloodied Oni’ is going to be short one keg of ale, good luck in your travels young one” with a understanding nod the norn would walk off leaving Ailie with the whole of the city stretching out before her.

“Curiouser and Curiouser” she would say to herself as she stepped out of the barrel. Her body wrapped in midnight blue leaves that both grew and made clothing over her pale green form. She could only imagine what she would find in a place so varied as this ‘Lion’s Arch’

It was the second night that Raven had stayed in Lion's Arch, a far cry from the small farming shack she had called home since she had taken it as her own on the slight outskirts of Divinity's Reach. Lion's Arch was a huge and elaborate maze off streets, allies, buildings and races; a busy and lively mixture that buzzed alive before the sun crested over the horizon. Raven had spent much of her life on the streets of Divinity hidden within the shadows, barely scrapping by everyday. So for her to awaken in the warmth of a bed in an actual room that was clean was something she appreciated. Persevering she had risen from the bottom to a respectable position no longer having to wonder when her next meal would come.

Slowly Raven would get out of bed, the soft warm sheet pooling around her hip as her legs swing over the edge of the bed, her toes lightly touching the cold wooden floor. As she yawned one hand would lightly scratch at her flat tummy the other reaching up to ruffle her short shaggy hair. Her ice blue eyes seeming to glow beneath her long dark lashes as they flutter open, slowly taking in the soft light that filled her room. Stretching Raven would stand allowing the sheet to fall away from her hip draping down over the side of the bed pooling slightly onto the floor. Slowly Raven would make her way over to the small vanity in her room pouring fresh water into the basin and splashes her face a few times with the cool water. Taking the pitcher of water Raven would pour her a glass to quench her parched lips the rectangular birthmark over the middle of her lower lip undulating with each swallow of the cool liquid.

Raven would stand in nothing but a shirt and underwear, pulling the curtain in her room aside as she looked out watching the city come to life just outside her window. From her window she could see some of the incoming fleets from the harbor. It was the soft grumble from her stomach that pulled her gaze away from the harbor and back to her room. Sighing softly Raven would slip into her clothes, fastening the few pieces of armor and weapons to her body. The weather looked nice enough, still slightly cloudy and misty from the harbors waters to warrant her to be free from having to pull up the thick hood over her head. Closing the door behind her Raven would set out into the Lion's Arch and have another day of information and exploration, but first on her agenda was to find that nice little traveling market stand for some hot food.

The long tail wrapped itself along the rafters beneath one of the bridges of Lion’s Arch. The strong frame shook faintly as the sun reached into it, large green eyes like emeralds reflected the light and made it seem as if the charr’s own oculars glowed in the shadows.

A yowl that transformed into a groan was the way the creature yawned, displaying a maw full of sharp feline-looking fangs, the strong tail released the rafter as the charr moved forward in all fours to stretch her limbs and her back, a low purr of satisfaction came from the beast’s throat. She then finally grasped onto the side of her perch, strong claws digging in the wood. Razjhan climbed down the bridge with her strong claws and finally jumped in the streets.

Her frame was covered by a dark brown cloak, her body encased by light armour, out of sight of weapons, her trail wagged behind her as she moved. A soft shade of light grey fur contrasted with her garments. She moved down along the waking city, murmuring a song for only herself and those who brushed past her to hear.

Pain...oh...by the spirits there was pain. His father had always told him pain was a good thing, it let you know you were alive, but at this moment...death would have been kinder. Everything was sore, and his head felt like there was a team of blacksmiths forging none stop. The last he remembered there was the greatest party he'd ever seen because he had been inducted as an official hunter in his tribe, now his pretty crystaline blue eyes opened to the swirling colors of white and blues. He'd continue blinking trying to clear the colors but when they wouldn't leave he swatted with enormous muscled arms only to feel the tarp give way.

THE LLLIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTT! Oh yea his head ache was worse now. Direct natural light pounding into his retina made him groan sickly as he slowly sat up. He'd slowly open his eyes again trying to get used to the bright sun. Finally he'd begin to check his surroundings finally realising that he was in a cart parked back behind a stall he'd slowly begin to crawl out of it. He wore nothing but a fine fur kilt and thick leather boots. The rest had been taken off because well, He always found himself to warm once drink had warmed his belly! So now he got to his feet and lightly swayed. The young 10 foot mountain of pale muscle brought a hand up to run it though his wavy golden hair light scratches were given as he trys to clear his confusion.

Ah atleast there was one thing familiar! He'd reach into the cart and slide from it his sword. A massive 2 handed monstrosity of norn forged steel it was roughly a foot wide across the blade and easily 7 feet of blade with another 2 foot of handle and guard. The "guard" wasn't much at all little Knotted wings that spread out to each side and ran up into the blade for a pretty design untill it turned into killing device. He'd balance the weapon up on his shoulder as he slowly began to sway forward moving into the busy street of Lions arch. He'd call out "By the bear...how did I get here?...where in the abyss IS here?!"

Ailie had never seen so many people of varying shapes and sizes before. Some were covered in thick fur, others were as tall or taller than any door she had ever walked through. All around her the races of tyria mingled and flowed. For a moment she would see the very tapestry of life that she had been trained so delicately to see in everything. Even amid so many different people and ideals, she saw the string that was ‘life’ that connected them all.

Coming to the end of the street that lead away from the harbor she would look hesitantly back, a deep tug within her told her this was her last chance to return to her quite home, to her books and her friends in the grove…with a step and one final nod she would walk willingly into the throng of people, there would be no turning back for this sapling.

It didn’t take too long for her to find her way to the central marketplace, and even then she was sure this couldn’t be the only ‘central marketplace’ in this vast network of ships and bridges that climbed to the sky in a dizzying spider web of rope, wood, and steel. Looking up into the windows she would spot a woman looking down observing the bustling thrum of the city, didn’t she know that the best information was found amidst the crowds? To her left she saw a strange trapezeing Charr land quietly into the crowds, she would have to try that sometime tho the drop looked steep to her. To her right she could hear the distinct bellow of a Norn who seemed to be ‘lost’ at last someone who understood!

Taking a confidant step to in the ‘Right’ direction Ailie would bump and tousle her way through the crowds until finally she ran into the ‘lost’ norn, with a rustle of leaves she would fall back as he collided with her. “Hey Mister!” rubbing her nose and smiling Ailie would jump up and attempt to get the man’s attention, it wasn’t easy given her small stature and weightless spongy form.

Raven meandered throughout the main footpaths around the nearby market area looking for the street vendor that sold some of the best meats on a stick she has had in a very long time and now she was spoiled on them. Unable to successfully find the vendor the normal way she scratches her temple as she looks around as she gathered her thoughts on where to look next. Deciding she needed height to see, she starts off in a slow trot towards the stone pillar of one of the waterway bridge. Looking down into the water Raven would slowly begin to wave her hand in a circular pattern as a soft cerulean blue mist begins to circle around her hand. As the water began to churn it would slowly rise up forming a makeshift pillar enabling Raven to rise up to the top of the stone column. Once her foot touched the stone bridge column, the water would slowly sink back down into the canal, an almost silent 'plop' and a few bubbles were the only signs the water had been disturbed.

Raven stood there surveying the streets below until finally she spotted the traveling cart. Raven would walk off the edge of the pillar and begin to free fall towards the stone ground, her entire body quickly starting from her feet to head turned into vapor. Her body rematerializes safely back on the ground as she takes off in a sprint. The vapor from her body billowing past her form giving the illusion she was a slight blur. Running up upon the vendor she would smile, "by the sweet heavens I finally found you", she says as she begins to offer him some money for a few meat sticks. She stood slightly out of the way of other customers as she chats with the vendor, needing to know his route so finding him would be easier for the next morning.

The light fur perked at the back of the charr’s neck as the smaller woman appeared beside her, morphing out of steam, already munching on a sizable piece of meat, the large green eyes focused on her for a brief moment, the large tail wagged in a content manner as she slowly had her fill, coin after coin she tossed on the vendor’s hands as he spoke with this intriguing ‘steamy’ lady.

Finally done, she licked her lips, and simply watched the woman with detail. “That was fairly impressive.” She spoke out. Her voice raspy but with an odd sweetness to her tone. Her large fluffy tail curled at her feet as she faintly purred, pleased as she patted her armoured stomach. Razjhan’s two sets of ears perked; one of them flicked away an insect, as her attention was mostly focused on this human.

It didn’t pass long before the charr’s right ears swished back, her claw gently yanked a sizable purse filled with coins from an unsuspected passer-by, hiding it within her cloak. She cleared her throat as she figured no one really witnessed the quick swish of her tail and the action of her paws, her attention turning back to the steamy human. “You’ve got good management with yer elements.”

He physically did not feel the little plant thing bump him but he heard her squeaky voice. Lifting his foot to ensure he had not killed her he grunts "Little thing...Where am I?" He slowly begins to look about before his hand instantly shot down he lifted a writhing human pick pocket and roared in their face "I'VE NO PURSE FOR YOU TO CUT!"

After the yelling he'd drop the human who promptly ran off white as a ghost. With a growl he began to look about regarding all he saw as hostile. "I Do not know how I got here...I know that I am here...and I am alive...so please...where...in the bears fuzzy balls are we?"

Ailie would watch him confused at first and then with a confidant nod she would reach out to the nearest man and attempt to shake him, with little luck she would pluck a small child up and shake them “WHERE ARE WE?!”

With wide eyes the little girl would scream and wriggle free running off. Turning to the norn Ailie would shrug. “Lions Arch I think…but that girl just said AHHHHH, so perhaps we are there, interesting place really” bouncing lightly on her feet she would pop a hip and rest her hands lightly on them.

“So where did you come from?” her eyes were searching and curious, she had an in exhaustible hunger for knowledge.

Name: Tanahi Hunter

Age: 22

Race: Human

Profession: Mesmer

Background: Tanahi's mother died of an illness when the girl was five; her father was nonexistent in her life. Luckily, she was raised by a family friend -- a scholar who had dedicated his life to the study of magic. This man, Horus Greymoon, encouraged Tanahi to pursue it as well. As the young lady grew older, her interest in magic began to gravitate towards illusions and subterfuge. Tanahi uses her cunning and natural aptitude with conjuring illusions to win fights.

While knawing on her meat stick Raven would turn to the Charr. The entire charr race intimidated her just by sheer size and 'beastly' qualities but she had come to learn more about them so now the intimidation turned into respect. Raven didn't exactly have the best of table manners as she speaks with her mouth full, "mmm thank you", she says as she watches this Charr's ear twitch but then smirks softly. "I suspect your skills are just as impressive", she asks an eyebrow raising as she takes another bite of her meat.

With the city dotted by large and smaller harbors there was a nice breeze that blew through the city keeping the humidity balanced so one did not suffocate from the stuffy heaviness of the air. But it also carried lots of information as the scents were whisked away by the breeze. Not from Lion's Arch Raven would take a chance and strike up a conversation with the Charr, "I'm Raven... have you been in Lion's Arch long?", she asks as she watches this unique Charr's body language.

The Charr lowered herself with little effort to meet the human girl face-to- face, her ears folded back and the top set perked up, the second set remained lowered. A strange expression twisted the feline features into what would be a smile, large fangs in display, the faint trail of a purr accompanied the creature’s ‘grin’. She nodded as a response, but didn’t quite answer the girl’s question.

“Fairly new ‘round here.” Razjhan nodded solemnly. “Maybe two ‘er three nights from now I arrived.” She motioned with her head toward the docks. Her long, strong tail swished on the ground before a walker by stomped it on. A deep growl escaped and the smile twisted into a sneer. “Watch it!” she hissed out a snarl, whomever was ran along quite quickly. The light-reflecting green eyes rolled back as she turned her attention to Raven. “Are you a local?” she licked her maw idly. “Name’s Razjhan, by the way.” The strange smile came back to the furred face.

His eyes widen as the little woman picked up a child and shook it. He starts with a little giggle before he falls flat on his ass in Roarous laughter holding his sides as he pants and weezes for air. Eventually he is able to calm his laughter into little giggles as he wipes away tears from the corner of his eyes "I like you lass...Whats your name?" he from the ground (where he'd still be taller then her) offers her an enormous hand.

Tanahi set down the book she was reading, the redhead coming to the conclusion that whatever this tome had to offer her had already been absorbed into her mind. It would be a waste of her time to continue. She turned to exit the small bookstore, already having another place in mind. The loud, active streets of Lion's Arch greeted her as she entered.

Her body tensed up, lips pressing into a fine line. Crowds. People. Little to no elbow room for her. Adjusting her glasses, the redhead forced herself to wade into the streets, pushing her anxiety into the back of her mind.

Ailie would take the norn’s massive hand into her own small leafy one. “I was named Ailie, yet I don’t believe I’ve properly grown into it” she would say with a warm smile. She quite liked the massive man, for one of the giant men he was ‘nice’ and that was as good as any reason to be his friend. Withdrawing her hand she would place her knuckles on her hips and look around surely there would be someone here who could help them better than they could help themselves.

Spotting a woman with red hair and glasses would be jostling her way through the crowds; with an almost impossible lithe movement of her arm she would touch the redheaded woman. “Excuse me miss, I believe my friend and I are lost….could you tell me exactly where we are?” with big curious blue eyes she would look into the woman’s questioningly.

Raven would turn to the Charr and smirk shrugging her shoulders, "It depends on what you mean by local....", carefully Raven would suckle on her fingertips as she finished her breakfast. Wiping her fingers on her forearm she would nod her head, "I'm from the north. I wanted to come and see what the old capital looked liked... I myself have only been here a couple days as well", she says. Raven's body slightly shifts as if she seemed uneasy by something. "The winds here are pretty strong... seems like the fog is lifting", she would say after a few moments.

Lifting her hood over her head, her ice blue eyes would disappear within the dark shadows that the hood provided. Lifting her head slightly Raven would ask, "So Razjhan, if you're not a local to Lion's arch did you come from the Charr Lands of Ascalon?", she asks, wondering what area of the charr's territory did such a unique charr come from. Was she canine, feline or perhaps something else altogether, Raven wasn't sure and was curious.

The Charr straightened herself to an extra two feet of height to look above the heads of the busy street, the fog? The large beast licked her maw and stared off in direction of the ocean. The two sets of ear perked up as the girl’s voice called for her again with a very familiar word.

“Ascalon, yes.” She lowered herself once again to her eye-level out of consideration more than anything. Her long tail wagged softly behind her. “I left there long ago.” She shrugged, the pupils in her eyes thinned to a line, not due the light. The Charr then would simply issue a sudden derail to the topic beyond Charr territory. “Should we move elsewhere, perhaps?” Razjhan’s head tilted to the side and a soft purr came from the back of her throat.

As soon as "Tanahi" had been touched by the Sylvari, it simply stood motionless in front of both she and the Norn, its lifeless grey eyes staring into space. Its skin was cold, like that of a corpse.

The actual Tanahi, however, was not far behind. Having dispatched her clone to scout out the location of another bookstore, she had taken it upon herself to escape from the crowded streets. Being able to utilize illusionary clones was the greatest excuse not to interact with other people. Her eyes widened as she caught sight of her red-haired copy standing still in front of a Norn and Sylvari.

Inhaling sharply through her nose, Tanahi walked over to their spot. Angrily muttering a few magical words under her breath, the clone's form immediately shattered into shards of glass that fell to the dirt. It was a wonder how the Sylvari had not been cut by the sharp glass. Tanahi forced a rather apologetic smile.

"...My apologies. It would appear that my clone has malfunctioned." A soft chuckle. "I rather hate it when they fall apart like that, you know?"

Ailie would give out a shriek as the illusion shattered, stamping her foot down he would bustle up to the illusion's replacment. "HEY YOU! I was almost a shredded....s-salade!" she would say both excited at the marvel that had been the illusion, and upset at the almost immediate danger it had provided. crossing her arms she would huff.

"your lucky I need you, where are we, and don't you lie to me" her big blue eyes would narrow in mock frustration trying to look tough.
