~~ Extinction ~~

In the near future when mother nature is no longer able to keep a balance between man and herself she allows contracts, unions between the two in a last ditch effort to keep her precious creatures from falling into extinction. The result are hybrids of all shapes, colors and sizes. Some humans who wish to try and preserve mother nature keep a safe sanctuary for these contracted hybrids while other humans enslave the hybrids out of greed, money, superstitions or fear. While some humans and hybrids have made it their mission to free these slaves others seek a peaceful life. This is the story of survival and the interactions among all creatures left in the world, man, beast and contracted hybrids.

Profession: currently working as a guide in Africa, bringing awareness to their cause as well as showing new recruits how to survive in Africa. However all of this is within the sanctuary's 1,000 square mile territory.

Background/ History: Sasha was a normal girl growing up in the plains of Africa's wilderness. A true wild child, always enjoyed being outdoors. One day her father decided to bring her along on a hunt for gazelle. Knowing the dangers of other predators out on the hunt she decided it was a great opportunity to learn from the village's greatest hunters. However on that day white man came and tried to oppress their local people and when they refused, blood was shed. Sasha ended up near death's door when a lone Black Mamba came slithering by on the hunt for food. Tasting Sasha the snake asked her if she wanted a second chance at life, agreeing with a gurgle, she and the snake entered mother-nature's contract and the two souls became one.

Appearance:

Skin tone is a sandy golden 'wheat' color with similar colored scales along her face/ torso with the scales becoming a lighter cream on the underside scales of her body while the top fades from the golden 'wheat' to a gun-metal gray. Her eyes are a golden yellow with a ring of silver around the edge of her round pupils. Her eyes are protected by a fixed lens, however she still is able to blink. She is able to see in color as well as in heat-bands but lacks nocturnal vision. Her jaw is able to unhinge almost a full 180 as she eats things whole. She does a long forked tongue which causes her speech to have a lisp. Her once normal human teeth became small curved teeth, much like mother-nature's anaconda's while her two main fangs remain up front dealing a toxic venom which kills a human in 15 minutes. Sasha is full sized at around 30ft in length and can 'stand' at 6ft. Sasha is able to move relatively fast for her size, maxing out at a top speed of 45 mph on flat land.

In a world in which animals are dying at such a rate that they are no longer able to reproduce in time many are falling extinct, unable to evolve in such a short time span. But even amongst all this chaos and destruction there still lies hope, one last gift nature could give to her 'children', an opportunity to still survive within, and alongside the very creatures that threatened to wipe them all off the face of the world, humans. Nature was smart in allowing these rare hybrids to appear, some in the form of true hybrids while others mere shifters, and in doing so 'she' created a new race in hopes of repopulating the world.... a small hope that all her 'children' be remembered and kept alive. These hybrids are rare since not all animals nor all humans can become one only under the right conditions and with nature's blessings can they be 'born'. But one thing is for sure, both souls must be compatible, in spirit and in mind the two must 'match'. it was the one condition she placed upon them, not wanting to create a species that would overrun the others already in place.

Out in the horizon across the great open plains of the serengeti what was once home to a wide variety of animal life has dwindled down to but a fraction that once called this home. The great and mighty elephant finally succumbed to man's will and are all but forgotten memories to most. Slaughtered and poached to extinction it is but one of many species whom have fallen from nature's sight. Now the site of Africa is much different from the old picture books. The great open serengeti is now a patchwork of thick bush-jungles that open up into smaller open fields. Without the elephants and some of the other grazing species the undergrowth and plant life have taken over, rooting out some of the larger predators like the cheetahs out of the area. Species that once relied on the open flat lands have had to migrate elsewhere on the outskirts. With nature so out of balance can the people of the world work together as a team and save their world from a lonely existence without animals roaming free or will an all out war for supremacy be the final blow that crowns man as ultimate predator????

Appearance: mongoose like traights and claws, but mostly human looking

The sun was just starting to crest over the horizon as Sasha slowly awoke. Silently as possible she slithers off of her heated bed. The motion slow yet fluid as her muscular body undulates across the floor, the small throw falling atop of her rock bed. Gliding over to the door she slowly opens it, allowing her hot body to adjust to the cooler air outside. Slipping outside onto the gravily sand she would wait as the sun rises. As soon as the rest of the camp began to stir awake she makes her way towards mess hall 2 and helps the volunteers prepare the animal's meals.

Only then once she was done and the sky was fully lit would she head to the main mess hall and gather up her portion of food for the week. it would take Sasha only about 30 minutes to consume the large amounts of food but she'd make sure to save some for a snack later.

It was close to 10 am by the time Sasha got up from the tables and headed back to a different building. It was there that she would put on a company tank and then throw across her torso a belt containing a small survival kit, extra live ammo, tranquilizers and a sniper rifle capable of firing both kinds of ammunition. Today was going to be an interesting day, she had a feeling. Today was patrol day where she would check to make sure that their safe sanctuary remained that way.
